HPE StoreOnce NAS Workload Test
This test monitors the overall performance of every NAS share attached to the target HPE StoreOnce Backup appliance by reporting the health, replication status, storage utilization, and I/O processing capability of each NAS share. This test helps administrators identify processing bottlenecks (if any) so that the bottleneck is cleared before users complain of slowdowns. This test also reveals the number of files, directories, and inodes in the NAS shares. Also, in order to optimize bandwidth usage and throughput, minimize congestion, and maximize the replication speed, administrators need to constantly keep a vigil on how well replication is performed on the NAS shares. Thus, the test reports real-time metrics of the volume of data received by and transmitted from the NAS shares for replication per second. This test also sheds light on the count of target replication job sessions and the source replication job sessions established on the NAS shares.
Target of the test : HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x
Agent deploying the test : A remote agent
Outputs of the test : One set of results for every NAS share on the HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance being monitored.
Parameters | Description |
---|---|
Test Period |
How often should the test be executed. |
Host |
The host for which the test is to be configured. |
Port |
The port at which the host is listening. By default, this is set to Null. |
Username and Password |
By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with an Observer role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the Username and Password text boxes. |
Confirm Password |
Confirm the password by retyping it here. |
Timeout Seconds |
Specify the duration (in seconds) beyond which the test will timeout in this text box. The default value is 120 seconds. |
DD Frequency |
Refers to the frequency with which detailed diagnosis measures are to be generated for this test. The default is 4:1. This indicates that, by default, detailed measures will be generated every time this test runs, and also every time the test detects a problem. You can modify this frequency, if you so desire. Also, if you intend to disable the detailed diagnosis capability for this test, you can do so by specifying none against DD frequency. |
Detailed Diagnosis |
To make diagnosis more efficient and accurate, the eG Enterprise embeds an optional detailed diagnostic capability. With this capability, the eG agents can be configured to run detailed, more elaborate tests as and when specific problems are detected. To enable the detailed diagnosis capability of this test for a particular server, choose the On option. To disable the capability, click on the Off option. The option to selectively enable/disable the detailed diagnosis capability will be available only if the following conditions are fulfilled:
