HPE StoreOnce Services Status Overview Test

This test auto-discovers every component, CAT stores, NAS shares, and VTL libraries, on the target HPE StoreOnce appliance and monitors the status of the component. This test reports the number of times these components were in OK, Warning, Critical, and Unknown status. This test additionally tracks the number of stores, shares, and libraries in the target appliance. These critical metrics would help the administrators to keep track of the health status of the components, identify any availability issues faced by the components, and take preemptive actions before they affect backup and restore operations or even the appliance as a whole.

Target of the test : HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x

Agent deploying the test : A remote agent

Outputs of the test : One set of results for every component on the HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance being monitored.

Configurable parameters for the test
Parameters Description

Test Period

How often should the test be executed.

Host

The host for which the test is to be configured.

Port

The port at which the host is listening. By default, this is set to Null.

Username and Password

By default, the eG agent executes REST APIs on the target HPE StoreOnce Backup 4.x appliance to collect the required metrics. For the eG agent to execute the REST APIs, a special user with an Observer role is required. Specify the credentials of such a user in the Username and Password text boxes.

Measurements made by the test
Measurement Description Measurement Unit Interpretation

OK

Indicates the number of times this component was in OK state.

Number

Warning

Indicates the number of times this component was in Warning state.

Number

This measure denotes that the component is in warning state and it can be due to high storage utilization, improper garbage collection. disk issues, etc.

Critical

Indicates the number of times this component was in Critical state.

Number

The desired value for this measure is 0. If the value of this measure is not 0, then it indicates that the component health is in critical state. This can be due to issues related to disk health, system resource constraints, etc.

Unknown

Indicates the number of times this component was in Unknown state.

Number

Total

Indicates the total number of stores/shares/libraries on the target appliance.
