What is Regex Log?

A regular expression (also called regex or regexp) is a way to describe a pattern. It is used to locate or validate specific strings or patterns of text in a sentence, document, or any log files. Regex Log file uses regular expressions containing both basic and special characters.

Regex log monitor component scans the log files line by line and compare it with the format file pattern (that contains regular expression) for determining the matched and duplicate lines.

Why Monitor Regex Log?

Excessive backtracking is the main cause of performance problems with regex matching and as a result, time to finish the regex match grows drastically. By closely monitoring the target Regex Log Monitor, administrators can be proactively alerted to issues related to regex matching that could affect the overall performance of the target system.
