How does eG Enterprise Monitor SyncServer
eG Enterprise monitors the SyncServer using an eG external agent that is deployed on any remote host in the environment. This agent communicates with the SyncServer and collects the performance metrics by executing the CLI commands on the device and also from the SNMP MIB of the device. To collect metrics from the SNMP MIB, eG agent requires the device to be SNMP enabled.
Pre-requisites for monitoring the SyncServer
To enable the SNMP in the SyncServer, use the following command:
snmp-server community <community string> RO 5
In the above command, <community string> is the SNMP community string that is used for read-only (RO) access. The number 5 refers to the access control list (ACL) identifier.
