Monitoring SyncServer

eG Enterprise provides a specialized layer model for monitoring the SyncServer.

Each layer of this model is mapped to tests that measures a key aspect of performance of the SyncServer. Using the metrics reported by these tests, administrators can find quick and accurate answers for persistent performance queries, such as follows:

  1. Is the time synchronization precise with reference time sources?

  2. Is the SyncServer and its associated services available at any given time?

  3. Is the clock in operation state?

  4. Are there any configuration errors being reported by SyncServer?

  5. Is the receiver of SyncServer currently online and tracking?

  6. Is the strength of GPS signals good enough for SyncServer's optimal operation?

  7. Is the SyncServer correctly handling leap seconds and maintaining accurate time during leap second events?

  8. Is the round trip delay between the primary reference time source and target server is within tolerance limits?

In the nutshell, monitoring a SyncServer is essential for maintaining time accuracy, availability, security, and reliability within your network, as well as proactively addressing issues to prevent downtime and disruptions.
