Monitoring VMware AirWatch
eG Enterprise offers a specialized monitoring model to monitor the VMware Workspace ONE UEM with an exclusive VMware AirWatch component. eG Enterprise periodically checks the device events that were logged in the VMware Workspace ONE UEM console and reports the device type for which maximum device events were logged. Also, administrators can identify the APNs certificates that are nearing expiry.
Figure 1 : Layer model of VMware AirWatch component
The layers depicted by Figure 1 is associated with a series of tests, each of which seeks to answer the following questions related to the performance of VMware Workspace ONE UEM:
- Are device events triggered for a specific device event type? Which are those device event types for which the device events were triggered?
- Is any APNs certificate nearing expiry? If so, which are those APNs certificates?
- Is the VMware Workspace ONE UEM available over the network?
- What is the response time to connect to the target VMware Workspace ONE UEM?
- Have TCP connections failed? If yes, how many TCP connections have failed?
Since the test pertaining to the User Experience layer of Figure 1 has already been discussed in detail in the Monitoring Apache Web Server document, let us now focus on the remaining layers in the forthcoming sections.
